We are all meant to be Mothers of God, for God is always needing to be born.
Inspired by this insight of Meister Eckhart (a thirteenth-century Christian mystic), I chose to depict Mary with a mirrored face so that persons viewing this work might actually envision themselves in their calling to bear Christ into the world.

This work was improvisationally pieced using commercial cotton fabrics and embellished with improvisational stitching, appliqué, couched metallic fibers, and a glass finding (mirror).
