As a child, I had a plaque over my bed that depicted a rainbow, accompanied by the words, “The future is as bright as the promises of God.” Inspired by memories of that plaque, this work references the conclusion of the Great Flood, when a rainbow appeared in the sky as a sign of God’s everlasting covenant with humankind.

This work was constructed from commercial cotton fabrics, then embellished with ultra suede appliqué, sheer overlay, and improvisational stitching.
