![]() IN DUE SEASON
The design for this set of liturgical textiles draws on the numerous Old Testament references that link “grain” with “offering,” making it an enduring symbol both of God’s faithful provision and of our own grateful response to that provision … on Newer Testament references to tilling, planting, and harvesting that remind us of the kingdom work God entrusts to us … on liturgical references linking the gathering of the harvest to God’s gathering of all peoples into one family … and on the past/present/future of God’s Church, which stands as testament to the seeds of faith that have been and will continue to be planted and nourished in the lives of many generations of the saints.
The pieces were constructed from synthetic tweed and silk dupioni fabrics, then embellished with a collage of sheer synthetic fabrics, appliquéd images, ultra suede accents, and improvisational stitching. |
