COPPERED MOUNTAIN
(29 inches by 19 inches)
For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land,
a land with flowing streams … a land from whose hills you may mine copper.

The view of the Rocky Mountains that used to greet me each day inspired this work, grounded in the words of Deuteronomy 8.

This work was fashioned out of commercial cotton and synthetic fabrics, as well as black cotton fabrics from which I selectively removed the dye. It was embellished with improvisational stitching.

This work was juried into Au Naturale at the Ricky Tims Quilt Art Gallery in La Veta, Colorado.
